The Village at RockvilleA National Lutheran Community

2022 Highlights

In 2022, The Village at Rockville introduced several significant initiatives to position the community for the future, including planning for the strategic renovation of Rockville’s oldest triplex cottages to create modern duplex “villas” with open two-bedroom, two-bath and two-bedroom, two-bath plus den floor plans. Renovations will begin in mid-summer 2023. The community also celebrated a number of milestones, events and annual holiday festivities that kept residents, team members and guests delighted and engaged throughout the year. The community introduced the Village Explorer program, a new future residency initiative that enables future residents to participate in community events while they wait for their preferred apartment, cottage or villa to become available. The Village at Rockville opened a dog park complete with doggie playground equipment and Frosty Paws frozen doggy treats. Mission Advancement kicked off a team member giving campaign at Rockville with a fun and tasty cake decorating competition supporting the Benevolent Endowment Fund. Cultural diversity was celebrated and honored in resident and team member events and festivities throughout the year, including Rockville’s multigenerational International Fest, Black History Month and other cultural and holiday observances. Chaplain Charlene Curtis was formally installed as Rockville’s chaplain in October. In December, Rockville welcomed new Executive Director Craig Wagoner, who quickly established rapport with residents and team members and began guiding the community through the community’s long-range planning. Craig was promoted to NLCS vice president of operations in early 2023 and continued to lead the community in an interim role until Rockville welcomed new executive director Felicia Anthony in June.
