2024 Highlights in Photos
In January, residents embraced their hassle-free lifestyle and enjoyed playing in the snow instead of shoveling it!
In March, Flo referred a friend and earned a free month as residents at The Village at Orchard Ridge love welcoming friends as neighbors!
In April, we held a luncheon to honor residents who generously volunteer for National Volunteer Week, with the Shining Star Award presented to Alan Berry for his outstanding work with residents at Orchard Woods Health Center.
In April, residents and team members took a break from their daily routine to gather on the Spice Patio for a perfect day of eclipse viewing, complete with glasses for everyone.
In May, Orchard Ridge won the Honeycrisp Award for our float in the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival parade.
Orchard Ridge honored moms with a Friday tea for residents and team members, followed by a Sunday brunch for residents and their families at Orchard Woods.
In June, Independent Living residents enjoyed an Active Outing to the Ridge Trail at Cacapon State Park.
In July, we celebrated Executive Director Steven Nastasi’s birthday with a little fun and singing!
In August, the resident town hall meeting was wild — as we showed off our animal magnetism!
In August, residents had a wonderful time at the Watermelon Wine Festival at James Charles Winery & Vineyard.
In October, residents took an Active Outing to Pyramid Alpaca Farm, where we learned all about alpacas and enjoyed the chance to get up close with these gentle, charming animals.
Our largest team yet of residents, team members and friends proudly joined the Alzheimer’s Association Walk at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, raising over $5,000 to support the cause – the highest total among all participating teams.
In December, The Windsong Community Chorus filled the air with holiday spirit, wowing us with beautiful music and showcasing the talents of several Orchard Ridge residents.

Residents gathered for the second annual Passover Seder, one of several traditions at The Village at Orchard Ridge that also includes lighting the Hanukkah menorah each night. Both celebrations bring together Jewish and gentile residents.
