The Gift of an Organ for The Chapel at Orchard Ridge

The Village at Orchard Ridge—A National Lutheran Community (TVOR) is pleased to announce a major gift to The Chapel at Orchard Ridge, A Center for Faith and Community Life by one of its own residents—one that will enrich lives within the community and the wider community for generations to come. TVOR resident Richard Duesing, has generously donated funds for a custom pipe organ that will be delivered in February 2016.

Bids from reputable organ builders were received and reviewed by well-accomplished organists in the Winchester community, including active and retired professors of Shenandoah University’s Music Conservatory. TVOR’s Board of Directors approved the proposal of Letourneau Organ, Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec in July. Letourneau’s Opus 130, custom designed and unique for the chapel will be one-of-a-kind. The instrument will replicate features of the chapel, including the paneling and walnut moldings of the ecclesiastical furnishings. The community plans to hold a dedication and inaugural concert June 17 and 18, 2016.
