The Village at Rockville—A National Lutheran Community celebrated the Chapel’s recent renovations with a service of blessing on Sunday, September 9 at 3 p.m.
These renovations, made possible through the MAGNIFY campaign, enhance the experience of all who utilize the Chapel. Chairs have replaced the pews, to better accommodate walkers and wheelchairs; a lift was installed allowing access to the chancel, and the lighting improved with the addition of stained glass windows and glass doors. A new sound system communicates directly to hearing aids and the state-of-the-art Holtkamp organ makes the most beautiful music. The Village at Rockville would like to extend special thanks to the generous donors who made this possible, and all of the clergy who participated in the service, especially the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s Bishop Richard Graham (Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Synod), and Bishop William Gohl Jr. (Delaware-Maryland Synod).
