Employer Matching Gifts – Your current or retiree employer may offer a match to your donations.

Donor Advised Funds – Designate a gift through your charitable sponsor.

Retirement Plans – Those over 70 ½ years of age may make a charitable distribution up to $100,000 annually directly from a taxable IRA account instead of taking their minimum distributions. As a result, you may avoid being pushed into higher income tax brackets.

Real Estate – A gift of real estate that has been held for more than a year also has the advantage of providing you with a charitable deduction based on the current fair market value, as well as bypassing capital gains tax on the appreciation.

DEFERRED OR PLANNED GIFTS:

Create your legacy by providing a gift in your will or through a beneficiary designation.

Will – Next to writing a check, perhaps the best-known vehicle for philanthropy is the bequest made in a will. A bequest makes it possible for you to make your wishes known today without relinquishing needed assets during your lifetime. Bequests can transfer a specific asset entirely or a percent of the estate after costs and taxes.

If you have designated a NLCS community as a beneficiary of your estate, please let us know by completing one of the forms below. This allows us to prepare for future realized funds and recognize your philanthropic support now.

Beneficiary Designation – With recent changes made to the laws surrounding IRAs, making NLCS a beneficiary of your retirement account is a simple way to give a legacy gift while securing your family’s security through more beneficial assets.

GIFTS THAT GENERATE INCOME FOR YOU:

The benefits of planned giving compound when you utilize one of the below options which generate income as well as provide a number of other benefits.

Charitable Gift Annuity NLCS offers charitable gift annuities that can create guaranteed income for life while enhancing your charitable giving. A charitable gift annuity (CGA) through NLCS enables you to make a legacy gift that supports our mission while creating a dependable life-long income stream. In addition, an NLCS charitable gift annuity provides important tax benefits:

  • A tax deduction for the year you make the charitable gift based on the estimated amount that will eventually go to NLCS or the community you designate
  • Tax-free income from the annuity based on life expectancy
  • The charitable gift annuity may reduce estate taxes and costs

This is a great way to support NLCS’ mission and make a philanthropic gift to your community while receiving annuity payments over the course of your lifetime. For more information on the benefits of a charitable gift annuity, click the link below.

Deferred Payment Gift Annuity – With a deferred payment gift annuity, payments are deferred for a number of years. Additionally, deferred payment gift annuities offer rates that make them an attractive way to supplement retirement income.

Charitable Remainder Trust – A charitable remainder trust (CRT) is perhaps the most versatile charitable giving tool. With the CRT, it is possible to bypass capital gains tax on the sale of highly appreciated assets, generate an increase in income, receive an attractive charitable income tax deduction and fulfill your philanthropic objectives.

Life Insurance – Life insurance has many unique attributes that may enhance nearly any comprehensive charitable gift plan.
